Fiesta

Weily's big adventure today was the Bike to Work Week fiesta. He worked the crowd and got a few pats on the head. One lady was extremely interested in the guide dog process and we fielded her questions as she doled out affection to Weily.

After I got my bike repaired, we filled our plates and grabbed the only available picnic table. It was available because it was only ten feet away from the rock band. The band's roar and ducks in the nearby pond were formidable distractions. He didn't mind the music, but the ducks were irresistible as they swam away or flew into range. He crept toward them, but STAYed after one correction.

After I returned home, we took our evening walk and played a little. He wasn't too interested in playing ball after the walk. However, when our goddaughters showed up he got his second wind. He feeds off their energy and I think he wants his share of the attention. He is relentless.

A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down. - Robert Benchley
