Babies R Us

Roxie delivered 9 perfect little pups today to the OccuPaws family. 5 Boys and 4 girls averaging about 13 oz each. She started at 10:25 this morning and finished up tonight at 5:05...so nice of her to do this in the day time.

No help was needed except the last 2 - they were born 2 minutes apart. More information on Facebook.

Play Date

Woof!

We love nice weather!!! It means a play date with all my dog cousins and all my human cousins. Evan and Jacob are really learning to retrieve for us, but Anna and Noah just lay there like lumps. For some reason, only Roxie got to play with Noah...gentle, schmeltle, just give em a big kiss is what I say.

Mom says Wilbur and I are growing up. I think Wilbur is getting over fed cuz he weighs 50 pounds and is taller than me now...no fair!

I'm still the boss of him tho'.

That's what he thinks - I'm just biding my time until I make my move :-)

All for now,

Harley

New Arrival

Arf Everyone,

I guess it's time for me to introduce myself, now that I have been a good boy and did NOT mess up my crate and only got up once in the middle of the night to go potty. I must be all grown up now!!!

I arrived at my new home on Friday after Momma Marlene got me and Hailey all spiffy. I smell soooo sweet. I got to meet Slick and Timber and Roxie and Reggie and Stitch. They all like me cuz I'm cute and don't bite hard (usually).

I'm part of the Labradorks crew now, I guess.

Aww, Timber loves me so much he's smiling while I bite his elbow.

You can see some more pictures of me and Timber and Slick here.

Who's New Hike

Greetings and Salutations,

Queen Mother Roxanne here, but please feel to call me Roxie...all my subjects do. Today was quite a delightful and invigorating luncheon and stroll with some quite lovely ladies from the "Who's New in Madison" organization. They held a walk in support of two of my youngest babies, Sonny and Maddi. Also in attendence was my son Slick and old friend, Dale.

Typically I leave these excursions into my realm to my children, but being such a wonderful day, I decided to join them. I'm working on my figure after giving birth and hoping to get back to a perfect size 2 prior to the holidays, so it was perfect timing for me. I even allowed several of the group to hold my leash, but being such a refined lady I scarcely needed one. I was in my element, mingling with my subjects and engaging in small talk and kisses.

Ahh, what a glorious day for an outing. I feel wonderful.

Well Ta Ta Everyone,

Roxanne

Mommy!!

Wowwee, Zowwee, Zam

I went to another lunch with Mom and Nikki and Dale and I got a surprise. Mom let Mom into the car. This going to be soooo confusing - I have two Mom's. Who should I listen to when they call???

Anyhow, Mom-Human says Mom-Roxie is moving to our house to live, now that all her puppies have gone to their puppy raisers. I think she likes it here because she likes to run as much as I do!! We went outside and ran and played - she is almost as fast as me and almost as tough. We both ran full speed into Dad-Human trying to catch each other.

Then it was time to relax, come inside and meet the rest of the pack.

Well, I guess meeting the pack was a sniff, tale wag, play bow, sniff again and get a drink of water. I was amazed Reggie didn't do his border collie growl like he does to me. I guess maybe Mom-Roxie is a little bit quieter than me??

Mom seems pretty happy to see me.

All for now,
Slick

Pink Escapee

Miss Pink escapes from the blue prison.

Mr Blue sounds the alarm with howling , barking, and whining.

"Shut Up - We Don't Care - It's Nap Time".

Banjo attended another OccuPaws training class with Slick and Dale. If only he could learn through osmosis. Our little man really needs the extra attention.

Continued our work with SIT, STAY, and COME. The DOWN command is totally treat induced and he pops up as the lure disappears. Our new trick is to hold him still as we raise the "treat" hand. We started to lay the groundwork for HEEL, having him closely follow us as we walk around making abrupt turns. Banjo has to focus on our movements; he didn't appreciate this.

Puppy Update

In six weeks we will need six new homes to raise puppies. Each puppy comes with a six month supply of puppy food and a guarantee that he or she will love you unconditionally.

If you think puppies are a lot of work and don't want to start with an eight week old baby, you may be able to convince one of the current puppy raisers to trade their housebroken, well-mannered dream for one of these rascals.

Roxie's litter consisted of two black males and six black females, all eagerly awaiting their chance to be a guide dog.

Sadly two little ones have been casualties to illness; the rest are receiving treatment and doing well.

More Puppy Raisers Needed

While the fifteen canines were cavorting in the backyard last night, there were nine more dogs in the house. The eight two day old babies were dining and Roxie was serving. Her litter consisted of two black males and six black females, all eagerly awaiting their chance to be a guide dog.

In eight weeks we will need eight new homes to raise puppies. Or four homes to raise two each. Or if you are really brave, one puppy raiser can raise all eight.

Good Luck!
