Animal Farm

Our weekly visit to pick up our vegetables turned into Animal Farm. Our first stop was by the pigs who had just finished their dinner. They are messy eaters, so Banjo helped clean their faces. He left the pigs wearing their mud and smelling like one of the herd. Banjo needs a bath.

We bagged up our vegetables which allowed us to work on DOWN and STAY. DOWN needs a lot of work; STAY is good for a four month old.

The highlight of Banjo's night was observing chickens. When he first saw the flock he just sat down; he was mesmerized. He was extremely good, no lunging or pulling, so we stopped for a second longer look. He and I observed the fowl for ten minutes while Lisa picked herbs.

The farm dog, Summer, escaped her confinement, as we were leaving. She had broken through the storm door and came bounding over to welcome Banjo to her farm. Not knowing that she was misbehaving, we greeted her happily and rewarded her bad behavior - exactly what frustrates us when training our puppy.
