Terrible Fives

Banjo has been extremely defiant because he is going through the Terrible Fives. This phenomenon has been exacerbated due to: no play time at training class on Monday, limited outings due to illness, and short walks because of wet weather.

I think we have mastered Marlene's goal to have Banjo respond to the lightest touch. We employ the "touchless" system - simply lay the pronged collar in sight of Banjo and he modifies his behavior.

We took a long walk the other night in the rain - actually it was storming. Banjo was very glad to be out. He was only bothered the thunder/lightning the the first time.

Banjo and I couldn't miss palytime at The Dog Den for playtime. It's free for people enrolled in training, but since they don't charge for Banjo's training, we contribute. Halfway through the hour, Banjo was exhausted - twenty dogs there today. I was asked to use the water bottle to discourage Banjo's hormone driven behaviors.

Money Saving Tip: Take your puppy shopping. This evening Banjo and I went shopping by ourselves. Knowing it was just the two of us, I prepared a list and stuck to it.

We moved through the store like a guided missile until the checkout. The wait was four deep which offered ample opportunity for Banjo to receive his daily dose of amor from the other customers.
